Today is the Forest Council meeting that will consider my den planning application. I am so excited and nervous all rolled into one. I don’t suppose I shall actually find out the outcome today unless I can find anyone who will tell me after the meeting. The main problem is with the security buzzard you just can’t get anywhere near the place. I am going to try and get as close as I can to the meeting but I don’t want to get into trouble today of all days. If only I had been born with a little more patience. I am sure I will be happy whatever the outcome. Ok so maybe I won’t. I hope I am not as bad as the master when Chelsea lost on Saturday. I tried saying to him ‘it’s only a game’ but for some reason that didn’t seem to be the right thing to say.

It has been amazing watching the changes in the plants over the last couple of weeks. Suddenly everything around is all green and there are strange pink bits stuck to all the trees. Some of the pink bits have fallen off, they couldn’t have been stuck on as well and they are making carpets under the trees. They are lovely and soft and smell nice too. My mistress was trying to explain to me that that is what happens in spring but I don’t think I completely understood. I am not sure whether it is spring that makes my mistress behave in such a funny manner too. She seems to think that it is a good idea to put the roof down on the car and have fresh air coming in. It seemed a bit odd to begin with but then I found the switch to wind my window down and sat up with the wind in my hair and my ears flapping back. It wasn’t long before I realised that this really is the life. However the point at which she pumped up the tyres of her bike and started pedalling down the drive I was just hoping she wasn’t expecting me to join in. I ran alongside for a while but I got bored and went to chew a stick until she came to her senses. I hope this isn’t going to become a habit! She seemed to be making the suggestion that this is how we could go for a walk. Is she seriously expecting me to keep running along rather than walking at a leisurely fashion and be able to stop and sniff at every opportunity? Can you imagine her pedalling along with me running and then suddenly stopping and shooting her over the handlebars? Now I start to visualise it I quite fancy the idea.
