It is not every year that Remembrance Sunday and Remembrance Day fall on the same day, but it has this year. I’d just ask you to take a moment to remember all the dogs who have been involved in conflicts around the world and more especially working with troops who keep the peace. They are often the first ones sent in when bombs need to be sniffed out and take huge risks to keep humans safe. We don’t have wars of our own and yet we are prepared to stand alongside our humans in whatever capacity is asked of us, so in your silence, spare a thought for the canine lives lost needlessly as well as the human ones.
I’m not sure I want to say much more after that as it would be a shame to leave you with a different message. You could just reach over to your own dog and give him and extra hug and thank him that he will always be there for you, no matter what you ask of him and no matter what he gets or doesn’t get in return.
