Saturday 11th November 2017- Glorious mud

Oh you should have seen Shadow! Our Mistress had the bright idea of taking Shadow on a walk they used to do regularly but haven’t done for a while. There is a reason they stopped going that way and they found out again this time. Mud! Not a little bit of mud that you can avoid and walk around, this was all consuming mud. The sort of mud that you put your paw in and it pulls you down. Shadow hates getting dirty. Shadow hates mud. She was up to her knees in it at one point. Our Mistress nearly fell over in it. The problem with that particular walk is that you have to come back the same way you go. That meant that despite the fact that Shadow was already swearing at our Mistress’s choice of walk, she still had to come back through the mud a second time to get home. By the time they came in, there was only one thing for it – Shadow had to go straight into the shower. If she was cross before she came home she was even more so afterwards.

The funny part of it all it is that our Mistress thought she was being clever taking photographs of Shadow in the mud. When she got home and wanted to show them to us, it turned out something went wrong with her phone and she didn’t get the pictures after all. It did cheer Shadow up that she was going to be spared the embarrassment of being shown in public all covered in mud.

On a brighter note, Alfie is very happy with his new den. When our Mistress had to leave him in it, to go out, he didn’t cry at all. She is so relieved to have found something he is happy with and to be honest we’re glad not to have him crying too.

Have a great Saturday

Oh dear! Sammi loves mud, but not so keen on the shower that follows. However, a treat usually helps. So glad Alfie is happy with his new den. It does look cosy. Happy Saturday to you all xxxxx

I’m fed up because his crate is better than my crate! Just because he’s going to be 12 he gets all the fancy new cushions and blankets. Anyway, at least I avoided the mud and the shower!
