Kitchen Table – Wednesday 21st March 2018

Kitchen Table

Why might you ask is a kitchen table so important to a dog? Oh you’d think it was because of all the scavenging I can do at meal times and in part that is the case. However, the most important thing about our kitchen table is that it is the place I hide behind or under for much of the day. I like it there. I go undisturbed and no one stands on me.

Anyway, when I got back yesterday it had gone. There was just this big empty space right in front of my day bed. I looked everywhere but I could not find a table. I walked round where it wasn’t. I walked the other way. It was definitely not there. Oh the tablecloth was there and the place mats, as well as countless pieces of paper that everyone in the house is too lazy to put away, but no actual table.

Good News

To my relief, there is some good news. There will be a kitchen table in the same place, just not the same one. It will even be almost the same size so most of me will still fit underneath. Even better, as our Mistress couldn’t sleep for coughing she ordered it in the middle of the night two nights ago and it’s arriving this morning. I’m sure I’ll like it. I know it won’t be the same as the one I’ve hidden under for the last few years, but by the time the old tablecloth is back on you’ll barely notice the difference. At least that’s what I’m hoping.

I just hope that my Master will be as happy hiding under the table as I have been been. It’s been a good table to me and I do wish it well in its new home.
