Girls
I do not understand girls. I have reached the grand age of thirteen without having the slightest idea how they think. Both Wilma and our Mistress need to lose weight. PLEASE don’t tell either of them I said that, else I’ll be dog meat. Now, I can only say all this from the standpoint of the fact that both Ari and I are relatively trim and fit right now, otherwise of course I’d be being hypocritical. Someone needs to tell them both that it doesn’t happen by just hoping you’ll be thinner! Neither one of them seems to be getting the hang of cutting down on the food. Here is Wilma’s ‘why haven’t you fed me yet?’ face. Our Mistress is worse as she’s the one who controls the food and she just doesn’t seem to want to stop herself. Don’t tell our Master but I think she may have eaten his Easter egg.
Fit and Fat
This isn’t just about fitness. The pair of them can walk all day and are very happy to be outdoors, but I’ve told them it’s not about distance it’s about cutting down. In our Mistress’s case it’s also about cutting out bad things. Wilma isn’t allowed to eat bad things, but that’s not the point. I did tentatively suggest that they should both start a sponsored slim. Perhaps if they had a goal in mind, like raising funds for our Club’s rescue fund, it might help to focus their minds. I thought I might see if any of you would be up for encouraging them with some sponsorship. Our Mistress needs to lose 2 stone (that’s 28 pounds or 12.7kg) and Wilma needs to lose about 4 kg. Let’s call it 17kg between them. What do you think? Is it worth sponsoring them to lose it and raise some money to look after Heidi in the process?
I’m off to swimming. See you later

Hi Alfie, talking of girls we have another one in the family. By that I do not mean at my house. Anne and Jimmy had a baby girl on Thursday, my Mum had everything crossed for a boy as she likes them the best!! To cap it all she is called Mollie. A name I like but now I am confused as my best friend at training ( a dog) is called Mollie. How can there be two Mollies? Being older and wiser maybe you have the answer.
I have twisted my knee so having to take things easy. My Vet said rest and some medicine. My Mum said I will go mad if I cannot go out so I am allowed two short lead walks. That is OK. I have to go back and see her on Thursday. I hope all is well as I am not allowed to go training at the moment and I love it there. Have a good swim . Lots of love Dickens XXXXXX
Oh Dickens, I am so sorry to hear about your knee. I do hope it improves soon. Mind had almost stopped working altogether until I started with the turmeric.
Congratulations on the new family member. The whole name thing is hard. If you just call everyone Mollie you should be fine.
Get better soon

Hi Alfie, please tell Wilma that losing weight isn’t too bad. I started my diet after Christmas when I was 29.5kgs. I was 24.6kgs last Thursday! Mum changed my food to a special one that makes me feel fuller so I didn’t really notice. My coat has a lovely shine now, too. I get lots of attention ftom the boys now which is never a bad thing ?
Love Betsy
Oh well done Betsy. What food are you on? I might just suggest it to Wilma if I’m feeling brave.

Royal Canin Satiety it’s called. It’s yummy. Mum gets a big bag delivered from Animed direct. She does moan that her pocket money is being eaten up by us pets, though.
Have a happy day
Betsy xx
Dear Betsy,
I’ve just used our Mistress’s credit card and ordered a bag. I really need her to feel full. She woke me early this morning wanting her breakfast and an old dog needs his sleep!
Thank you
Love
Alfie
I’ll sponsor both of you

Oh Granny, that’s lovely. Now I need to have the courage to tell them what I’ve done.
