Rest in Peace Elvis
Mum wanted me to say rest in peace Elvis and send her good wishes to Elvis’s family. I didn’t know him, but he was Alfie’s best friend when they were puppies. Alfie didn’t have many dog friends during his lifetime. He was never really a dog’s dog. He had me for the last few years, obviously. There was Bella, his girlfriend – the only girl dog he ever loved in his whole life. There was Shadow, although he preferred to keep her at more than paw’s length, just in case. And there was Elvis. Elvis was the only male dog that Alfie was every friends with. Apparently, Alfie idolised Elvis and would sit at the window and make a special cry of excitement when Elvis went for a walk past our garden gate.
Happy memories
Mum says she has very happy memories of the two of them running around the lounge and Alfie jumping clean over the settee to catch his buddy. To get the right picture you have to bear in mind that Elvis was not the same size as Alfie. Elvis was a small white terrier. When he left Belgium Alfie used to want to check every small white dog in case they were like Elvis, a bit like I used to be with Airedales after my friend Jas.
Beautiful picture
Mum says she now has a beautiful picture in her head, of Alfie waiting just the other side of the rainbow bridge, making his special cry of excitement as he saw his buddy Elvis arriving to join him. We just hope doggy heaven has a sofa they can run around, jump over and flop down on when they have run enough for the day.
We know his family will miss him very much as he was a very special little dog. Love and licks from all of us.
Love
Wilma
