Windy weather – Sunday 30th January 2022

Windy weather

Wow it was windy weather yesterday. We didn’t have our lunch until 2.30pm as a result. Why did the wind delay lunch? A very good question. Mum’s journey to pick us up went well until she got into Yorkshire. Then there were so many branches down and debris flying around that she decided we shouldn’t delay starting the homeward journey. The plan was that we’d have our lunch before setting off and we’d be ready for her just before midday. Then she turned up at eleven. I argued that we should have lunch first, but she wasn’t having any of it. To be fair to her, for the first stretch of the journey I could see what she meant and it wasn’t very nice at all. On the plus side it was sunny and dry so the driving conditions were not as bad as they might have been.

Good to be home

Oh it did feel good to be home. We had a lovely time outdoors. Mum even took her coffee out as it was so warm and sunny. Then we had a run around while she and Aristotle sorted out the new seeds ready for planting this week. Ari thinks they may have too many, but that’s par for the course. We checked on the other things Mum had been doing while we were away and I went to tell the sheep that I was back. Oddly, they don’t seem pleased to see me, which is a shame. Then Mum tried painting some tiles but it didn’t go according to plan, so I think the less said about that the better.

Too much noise

Mum always complains about how much we bark when we come home. I guess she’s right. We get into bad habits when we’re away and then have to remember where we are. It is not helped by our liking a good argument. If she tells us off we have to answer back. Her solution is to ring a bell. Oddly that stops us, but I’ve no idea why.

  1. Hi Wilma, so pleased to hear you are all safely home. I must say I was worried when I heard about the high winds on the weather forecast. So far we have been lucky here. No real news to report but I did go to the new dog field yesterday and it was great. Plenty of running about and sniffing but Mum does ask me to do some training exercises too.
Hope you have a good day. Love from us all Dickens XXX

    • Thanks Dickens. Why are mums like that? I am often made to do training exercises when I’d rather just enjoy myself. Do they really think we forget?
      Love Wilma
