Paws up For a While
As it was raining and windy yesterday Mum decided we’d all put our paws up for a while. I don’t think any of us really minded after how much running around we’d done the previous day. Besides at one point you could hardly see your paw in front of your face for the rain coming down. That was when we went outside after tea and it’s fair to say that none of us dogs felt the need to stay out for longer than it took to pee. We did however mind having to wait for Shadow to potter back across the garden while we got soaked.
Ari and I spent quite a bit of time watching the world go by. Every so often we’d tell everyone what was going on outside. The biggest problem with that is that then Shadow sees we’re excited about something and she starts barking. The problem is that she doesn’t know what we’re excited about and doesn’t actually stop barking, which means we all get into trouble.
Never satisfied
Why are humans never satisfied? If a dog was organising things around here, they would be happy that their work was going well and they would be pleased they could see an end to it. Humans on the other paw, at least the ones around here, see the list of jobs reducing and then think of some more to add to the end of the list to keep it going. Whatever is the point in that? Is there no limit to things Mum wants to get done? I’m in favour of being able to enjoy the garden when the work is done and not think of new projects.
I suppose on the bright side, the more garden projects – the more time we all spend outdoors. I’d rather she saw it as more time to play ball with me though.
