Italy
We will include here Dog Friendly Hotels in Italy that our correspondents report on. Giving our usual bone rating, with six being the highest award.

B&B Le Camelie – Domodossola – This is in a very quiet area and although it is residential, the walking is all right for a dog as there are some nice grassy areas along the roadside. The B&B itself has medium sized rooms, your bed will fit but you may not be able to put it where you’d like most. The bathroom isn’t large either, so your humans might get in the way when you’re going for a drink. The whole place has a big gate so it feels very safe especially if you need to sit in the car for ten minutes waiting for your human. I liked it.

Sotto I Sassi – Guiglia – This is a haven of peace and quiet and a very beautiful place to walk. The local village has more cats per square mile than I have ever seen, which was very exciting. Our room was large, although the humans found the beams and steps annoying and Dad hit his head. That’s not a problem for any dog I’ve ever met. The stone walls mean it’s nice and cool even when it’s hot outside and there are nice gardens. Your humans can even eat at tables outdoors so you can be with them easily. I give it 4.5 bones.
Villa Ucci – Onno – Oh the grounds of this hotel are amazing. Shadow and I just loved them. Our room had lovely cool floors too and a wonderful balcony where we could be shaded outside. The room was large as was the bathroom, so there was plenty of room for our things. Breakfast is in a lovely covered area outside so we were fine to be with our humans. Also the parking is under a grape covered car port so the car stayed nice and cool for us. We liked it here. We give it four and a half bones.
Villa il Poggiale – San Casciano in Val de Pesa – We loved it here. We had a lovely big cool room with loads of space. The grounds are fantastic with even somewhere for us to sit under a tree near the pool while the humans went in. We stayed together on the terrace during mealtimes and given how relaxed the humans were made it a real pleasure. There were plenty of places to walk and a convenient bin so all in all we were happy dogs. We give it five bones. (revisited in 2023 and just as good as 2018)
