Toy Box – Tuesday 15th October 2024

Toy Box

I’m not the only one with a toy box in the house now. No, don’t worry, neither Mum nor Dad have reverted to childhood just yet. Mind you, now I come to think of it, they do both have a fair few toys around the house. However, there is now a big trunk with toys in for when Mum’s great-nephews come to visit. I’ve had to promise that I won’t help myself to any of the toys from it. Mind you, to be fair, I have said I don’t mind if the boys play with any of my toys. I’ve always been pretty good at sharing. Theirs are a bit more of a problem for me. I’m not all that good with hand puppets, which are the main things which have been added so far. I do like having the books read to me though.

Mum’s knitting

Mum is finally coming to the end of the knitting that my friend Cookie helped by sending some wool for. She’s promised I can show you when she’s finished. She had to sew it up next and then knit the neck. Given that she made one or two errors along the way, this will be the point we find out just how lopsided it is or whether it looks all right. Being the good dog I am I shall be telling her it looks lovely whatever it turns out like. But then, to me of course it will look lovely, because it will have my favourite human inside it and that is all that matters to a dog.

The race is on

I nearly forgot to tell you. We had a bit of an incident in the garden on Sunday night. When Mum let me out for my final pee it was dark. Well, I got scent of an animal in our garden and was off like a shot. Mum realising what was happening ran back to get a torch so she could come up to the orchard and find out what was going on. Anyway, by the time I’d chased it over the fence I was completely wired and wouldn’t settle down. It took Mum ages to get me to settle indoors and not want to go back out to prowl.

Love
