600 lights – Wednesday 20th November 2024

600 lights

600 lights are up so far. That just leaves another 2400 to go! Today I’m hoping Mum will get at least another 400 up as well as doing some more hedge cutting. Unfortunately, the orchard has now reached saturation point. Everywhere I put a paw the water squelches up around it. You can only imagine what it’s like when Mum puts her human sized feet down. What we don’t really understand is how it seems to have gone from ok to saturated quite so fast. Mum says it must have been almost at surface level but just coping and now it isn’t. It is making putting the lights up in the fruit trees a delicate process of making sure she doesn’t slip over in the process.

I just go round trying to see if there are any apples I’ve missed, but by the look of things the rest of the apples have been the main food for the mice. There seem to be a lot of tiny teeth marks around.

Zoom call

I had another Zoom call yesterday with some lovely people who are thinking about adding one of our breed to their family. I didn’t interrupt once when Mum was speaking. I just snuggled up to her and showed how cute I can be. They’ll meet one in real life before they decide, but I think they thought I was all right. Mum says I’m supposed to show all aspects of the breed rather than being on my best behaviour and I can probably see her point.

Pebbles Preparation Plan

Mum and I are going to sit down and start putting together our Pebbles Preparation Plan. We need to get things ready for her before our Swiss trip. I was rather thinking Mum would do everything, but apparently I have to do some of the work. At the very least I need to sort through the toy cupboard to see what there is for her to play with. I need to find the collars and leads out too.

She won’t have new ones while she’s growing fast. She will have paw-me-downs in the same way that all of us after Alfie have. It does make it extra special when we go to the pet shop to choose new ones for the very first time.

Love
