Out of focus
Why is Pebbles always out of focus in photographs? Mum says it’s because she just doesn’t stay still for more than a second at a time, but I’m starting to wonder if there’s another explanation. Of course, she doesn’t actually stay still, but do you think she might just be out of focus in the first place? Mum says we’re lucky that photography is digital now. When taking pictures of Pebbles, it seems to be that for every ten Mum takes, she has to delete nine. Sometimes, it’s all ten! Pebbles is constantly on the go and doesn’t seem to think she needs to sleep. It’s only when Mum confines her to a crate that she seems to rest at all.

So much for a dog sleeping sixteen hours a day – although to be fair, I think I might take some of Pebbles share. I just chill and nap wherever I am. Pebbles is to chilling as a mosquito is to being the perfect bed companion.
Thunderstorm
Yesterday we had thunderstorms. It wasn’t very bad, just very rumbly for a while. It was the first time that Pebbles has heard them, but she wasn’t bothered. Mum prefers to keep us indoors during storms, which frankly, when you saw the rain suddenly come down, was probably a good job. As a result of the rain, even though it didn’t go on all that long, the next few days are going to be all about cutting the grass, which hasn’t needed doing for a week or two.
Mum and Pebbles are at their training class this morning, so I guess the mower will come up as soon as they come home. At least Mum can take her frustration out on the garden rather than me having to listen to her complaining about how Pebbles latest misdemeanour.
