Best behaviour
I have to be on my best behaviour today. Pebbles’ trainer is coming to see her in her home setting. I’m guessing I may get to meet her too. What am I going to say if she asks me about Pebbles behaviour? Obviously, Pebbles is my housemate and I don’t want to be disloyal, but I’d have to be honest. Do you think it would be better to say she’s a ‘crazed loon’ or should I be more non-committal in my response?
Army crawl
When Pebbles is excited she does an army crawl on her belly. It’s really weird and I’ve never seen a dog do it before. It seems to be a sort of non-assertive behaviour, but she isn’t showing any anxiety and she seems to do it at her favourite times. She always does it at her dog training class – which she loves. She did it when she met her half-brother Ferdi and yesterday she did it when she met Mum’s nephew. While she’s totally nuts, she also has the most endearing qualities and is a very good looking girl. Her markings are pretty near perfect and she walks with a beautiful demeanour – when not pulling Mum everywhere.
Getting lost
My vision has been affected by all the problems I’ve had. I sat down with Mum and asked if she could help me in any way. Quite a lot of the time I’m getting confused on where she is. My directional hearing isn’t great, so when she calls me I sometimes head in completely the wrong direction. Anyway, I’ve asked if she can maybe touch me to let me know where she’s going and maybe even attach herself to me by a lead so I know where she is. Maybe I could keep her on a long lead at all times.
Love and licks
