Apple bobbing
Pebbles has started her own game of apple bobbing. If you don’t know the game, it’s one normally played by children at times like Halloween when they have to get an apple out of a bucket of water with only their mouth. Now, in Pebbles case, there is no water involved. She’d still do it if there were! However, her swing is hanging under one of the apple trees and it’s been quite windy, so there are a lot of fallen apples. I don’t especially want to eat them yet as they aren’t ripe, but that is not stopping Pebbles. She spent a happy afternoon ducking her head into the swing to take another apple. Sometimes she got in for a swing too, but I think she’d finished the apples by then.
Playing with Hoppig
She has also been having great fun running off with Hoppig. To be fair, Mum did relent and say she could keep it, but you’d think with it looking like a puppy version of us that Pebbles would take care of it. It does make me wonder what she’ll ever do if she has puppies. I can only hope she treats them a lot better than poor Hoppig. He’s been shaken, thrown around, left in the orchard and sucked. I’m not really sure which of those is the worst. To say that Pebbles is rather vigorous when she plays would be an understatement! I just keep out of the way.
Dad’s in charge
Given that Dad is now much better and Mum is still ill, I think Mum is hoping he will look after us for the weekend. Of course, that would mean waiting for breakfast and our toilet stop until nearer to ten in the morning rather than seven, so I’m hoping Mum won’t mind doing at least some of it. Come to think of it, Dad’s never done my medication so there are plenty of opportunities for things to go wrong. Wish me luck.
