Researching operations

Mum and I have been researching operations I could have on my eye. There is a procedure which would create a new tear duct from my saliva gland that I could have. Reading about it, the surgery is far more successful than Mum had feared. Apparently it’s successful in 90% of cases. That sounds pretty good to me. Recovery time is also shorter than we thought and should only mean a couple of weeks in a cone. It is not nearly as major as the back surgery I had and I came through that really well. I think I’d only need it on my right eye, although I’m not sure about that.

We still have a lot of questions to ask the consultant when I see him later this month, but given the current situation isn’t working well for my right eye, I’m going to have to do something different. If it doesn’t work then the worst that can happen would be that I lost my eye then, but at least we’d have tried.

My birthday

It’s less than two weeks to my birthday and it’s a special one. I need to talk to Mum about what we are going to do that day. It’s not every day a girl turns ten and I’d like to mark the occasion somehow. I’m not expecting a big party. That’s not something I’d really enjoy, but I would at the very least like a birthday cake. I might ask for an Ostrich bone of my own as a present too. Pebbles has been having all the fun things and I’ve been a little bit jealous if I’m honest. I must remember that it’s going to be my brother Salvo’s tenth birthday less than two weeks after mine too. Perhaps Mum could arrange for us to see each other, that would be nice.

Love and licks
