The Great Storm – Tuesday 22nd July 2025

The great storm

Yesterday was the great storm – or at least a great storm. I’d just had my tea and was having a mooch about in the garden wen Mum called me to come in. I didn’t hear her at first, but she then came to look for me sounding more than a little frantic. I said I’d just finish having a good sniff and would be with her, but she said I would go in with her that very minute. As we went through the door, the first spots of rain started to fall. It wasn’t the first spots that were the problem, it was the deluge that followed on their heels. That and the thunderstorm which passed right overhead. Mum is never at her best in a thunder storm, but as long as it keeps its distance she’s not too bad.

Flash bang

There was a massive flash, a loud bang and we lost our internet connection. One minute it was there and the next there it was, gone. At the same time, our drive was a river of water and there was no way I’d have wanted to still be outside. Sadly, once again Pebbles had left Hoppig outside. Mum had no choice but to hang him up to drip dry. He did a lot of dripping.

Anyway, at least sitting with Mum watching the torrents of water I wasn’t feeling hungry. Poor Pebbles had to wait for the storm to pass before she could have her tea. Mum said it simply wasn’t safe to take her outside as it was.

As for the internet, there’s an engineer coming Wednesday morning.

The week so far

Just to recap our week, Dad’s suitcase didn’t travel to America with him. The thunderstorm took out our internet, oh and Mum broke her tooth. Fortunately, none of those things are really serious in the grand scheme, but my humans aren’t in the best of moods.

Love and licks
