Go Pebbles – Wednesday 3rd September 2025

Go Pebbles

Well, go Pebbles! She did really well at her training class yesterday. I think she surprised everyone, including Mum. She lost concentration when it came to her stay, but apart from that she did better in every exercise than she has done before. Mum says it took a lot of cheese to get that result, but that seemed a small price to pay. She was doing so well that for the first time Mum had confidence to drop her lead and walk away from her for the recall. Pebbles stayed completely focussed on Mum and did really well. It was especially impressive as her friend Dexter was back and it was the first time they’d seen each other in weeks.

Carry on digging

Of course, doing well at training has not stopped Pebbles from carrying on digging. She seems quite pleased with herself about the holes she’s dug. Mum is starting to think of just taking the compost out completely and using it elsewhere until the pen isn’t needed anymore. All Mum’s birthday presents were plants, so she has a lot of planting to do and is going to need some compost.

Anyway, as Pebbles had done so well in the morning, Mum couldn’t be cross with her and took her out for a nice walk instead. That went well until they met a man in wellington boots, carrying a waterproof jacket in one hand and a bag in the other. Mum said he did look a little odd and Pebbles was a bit upset. She gave a couple of growls, but only to say she didn’t want him to come near her. Mum took her to the side and spoke soothingly to her. Pebbles was fine again once he’d gone, although she looked over her shoulder once or twice.

Love and licks
