One of those days
Yesterday was one of those days – for Mum if not for us. That’s probably not fair. I think we were the cause of some of the problems. The day got off to a bad start. Pebbles likes to spend some time in the fresh air first thing in the morning. On the basis she will be good, Mum allows her to stay outside while Mum comes back indoors for her shower. Yesterday, as soon as Mum had taken all her clothes off and was about to step into the shower – Pebbles started barking – and barking. In Pebbles defence, she was answering a dog who lives two fields away and had called to her. Mum wasn’t interested in excuses. She had to get dressed again, bring Pebbles inside and then start all over again. Barking early in the morning is never going to endear Pebbles to our neighbours – of to Mum.
Collecting medication
Mum was later going to the vet to collect our medication than she’d planned to be. She was due to be going out for the rest of the day from midday and needed to get everything done first. Anyway, we had one of the builders here first thing, so Mum had to wait before she drove to the vet. When she got there she then found she had a flat tyre.
That was when panic set in. If she went to a tyre garage or waited for the rescue service then she wouldn’t be home in time for going out when she planned. As she wasn’t taking the car she arranged with the vet to leave the car there and then rang Dad to come and pick her up. By the time she got home she was feeling a little put out and had to change and go out again really quickly.
On the bright side, she did remember to stay at home long enough to feed us and make sure we had everything we needed. However busy she is, she does remember to put us first. She still needs to sort out her flat tyre but at least Pebbles and I are fine and fed.
