Delinquent teenager
I hate to say it, but I think we have a delinquent teenager in the house. We have a horrible feeling that Pebbles has reached ‘that age’. Mum has said we should look on the bright side. Once she is through this phase then she may settle down a little. Frankly, it’s hard to see past at the moment. Pebbles has gone back to being much more ‘grab bitey’ and Mum has a big bruise on her upper arm to prove it. It isn’t that Pebbles means to cause pain and distress and she isn’t aggressive, she simply can’t control her behaviour. For a while she has been quite a bit better, but all of a sudden she has lost the plot.

On top of that, she has learned how to open the door to my room and come barging in. I’ve asked to be kept apart from her for a reason. Having her letting herself in when I’m trying to nap is making me very jumpy indeed.
On the bright side
On the bright side, Pebbles is wanting lots more cuddles and Mum says that is a good thing.
Mum is stepping up the time spent training. She says it is really important to work hard with Pebbles now, so that when she comes out of teenage she has all the foundation she needs for her adult life. Sometimes, when Pebbles is hyper, she can’t even sit for a second, but Mum perseveres. Whenever there is a need to distract Pebbles, Mum gets out the cheese or the dog pate and starts doing a ten minute training session with Pebbles in the kitchen. Mum works on the basis that however much Pebbles pretends she knows nothing, some of it will stick. I just hope Mum’s right.
