Sun on my fur
I will never take for granted the feeling of sun on my fur. There is nothing quite like it. Whether I am indoors or outdoors, my whole life I have been a sun worshipper. Mum has photos of me sunbathing on the beach in Devon when I was young. And ones of me sunbathing on our balcony where we lived in Switzerland. Then there are ones of me lying in the sunniest spots I could find when we lived in Yorkshire and now here in Warwickshire. Whether it’s indoors or outside in the fresh air, there is nowhere better than being in a patch of sunlight when you snooze.
To be honest, I’ve noticed we are all happier when the sun comes out. Where dogs live in countries which are sunny all year round, are they happy all the time? I wouldn’t mind giving it a go.
Puppy training
Pebbles has been working hard on some of her training with Mum at home. She is excited that it’s Tuesday, as that means going to see her friends in training class. Mum is just grateful that the forecast is not for cold and wet weather for a change. She does find it soul destroying when Pebbles won’t cooperate and it’s wet and windy into the bargain. I must admit that I felt a bit envious when I saw how big a pile of cheese Mum was taking, in order to Pebbles to cooperate.
Pebbles did ask Mum if she could take one of her soft toys with her. Mum has said yes, on condition that Pebbles takes responsibility for it and remembers to bring it home. The last thing Mum wants is for Pebbles to forget it and then get upset at bedtime. It would a long way to drive back just to find a lost toy.
