Squeaky toys
I used to like squeaky toys. However, as I got older, I’m sure I grew out of running around squeaking incessantly. Maybe as you get older you simply forget what it’s like to be young. That’s the thing though. I know Mum keeps describing Pebbles as a puppy, but she will be 18 months old in another 11 days and that’s a bit old to be regarded as a puppy. Anyway, whatever you describe Pebbles as, she still loves running around and squeaking something over and over and over. I guess one odd thing is the fact that all her toys still have their squeakers. Mum says Shadow used to remove squeakers within minutes and I rather think I might have done some of that.
Pebbles is a girl who, crazy as she is, looks after her toys and keeps her squeakers in place. Now I realise I wish she didn’t!
Alarming
As if the squeaky toys weren’t already too much, today Mum is replacing batteries in the house alarm. When she does that it leads to our alarm going off at intervals. I do not like the sound of the house alarm. Not one little bit. Actually, it’s not as bad as smoke detectors, but it’s pretty bad. I’ve just about taught Mum not to burn the food as the smoke alarm upsets me too much, but she’s told me to put my paws over my ears while she does the battery changing. There must be a better way. Maybe I’ll go up to the top of the orchard and stay there until she’s finished.
Clothes repairs
Mum has been repairing some of the clothes that Pebbles has damaged. She has finally decided that they either need a complete overhaul or to be thrown away. Finally, she’s understood that there is a limit to how many holes she should have in the clothes she wears when she goes out. It was getting out of hand. Mum says that Pebbles will only create more holes so there didn’t seem much point. Dad gently explained to her that there might be more of a point that she’d realised. It’s a good job she’s got Dad to keep her on the straight and narrow.
