Deliveries
Deliveries can be very challenging to dogs. Of course, it’s something we all react differently too and some deliverers are more confident around dogs than others. Alfie used to tell me about his favourite Postie. Brian made friends with Alfie from day one by bringing him a biscuit every day. Alfie counted Brian amongst his very favourite people.
Pebbles has to be kept away from delivery people, but that’s because she is too enthusiastic rather than she doesn’t like them. Me, I can take them or leave them, but do get excited on days like yesterday. Yesterday was dog food delivery day. Both Pebbles and I get through a large bag of dog food about every 6 weeks. We have different food and there are different weights of food in each bag, but one of us uses up more energy than the other so is allowed a little more.
Oh the excitement when the two big boxes arrive. We fight over who is going to open the box. Mum tends to win that one and puts it away before we can help ourselves.
Frozen treats
I’m still busy with Apples, but Pebbles prefers her frozen treats. She feels the heat much more than I do and loves to cool down. It’s really funny, she just loves going outdoors before bed, when the day has cooled down a little. Then she runs around like a mad thing with her ball. During the day, Pebbles just lies in the shade and saves her energy for when she’s indoors.
Once the weather starts to cool down I guess Pebbles will run around like a mad things all day, and not just late at night. I suppose we should make the most of the heat – at least from the point of Pebbles’ energy level.
