Plastic bottles

What is it with Pebbles and plastic bottles? They are still her favourite toy above everything else. Not for her the expensive toys from the pet shop. No. She is happiest with a new empty plastic bottle. Dad is worried that she will take a full one by mistake and we’ll all get a bit of a surprise. Mum has addressed that by moving ones with anything in off the floor of the kitchen. Whenever a bottle comes to an end, Mum removes the top and the label and puts it on the kitchen table. When Pebbles really needs something to channel all her energy into, Mum hands over one of the empty bottles. Problem solved – Pebbles is happy for ages.

Is it the noise?

I don’t know if it’s the noise she can make with the bottle – She can make an awful lot of noise! It might be the way she needs to work hard to total squash it to its smallest size. Mum wonders if she sees it as some sort of illicit contraband. We realised a long time ago that Pebbles is never happier than when she thinks she’s taken something she shouldn’t have. The funny thing is that most of the time it is things Mum leaves deliberately for her to find. The real things she shouldn’t have are put carefully out of her way.

Growing up

Pebbles really is growing up. She is very strong and muscular, which can also make her hard work. She doesn’t always channel her energy in quite the right way, but we all think she’s improving. She’s off to the dog park again with Mum today. It will be a good opportunity for her to do some training practice ahead of her class tomorrow and for me to get some peace while she’s gone. Mum asked if I wanted to got too, but I just gave her a look that said it all.

Love and woofs
