Beyond a joke

I’m sorry but the weather is beyond a joke. Yesterday I thought was going to be only a little rain – we had a lot. Today was forecast as the one dry day this week and now they have changed that to being snow and rain. Of the next ten days at the moment only two of them are forecast to be dry. I just walk mud into the house and get on with it, but Mum is getting very down. The rose garden is under more water than is good for it and the orchard is threatening to swim away to someone else’s land.

Mum wishes we had gone away for the winter. That makes me feel a bit guilty as I was the one who said I didn’t think I’d cope and asked to stay at home. I guess Pebbles wouldn’t have coped either and we’d have to have left the country to get away from the rain problem – going south in the UK wouldn’t have helped at all.

Valentine’s Day

Today is Valentine’s Day and only 50% of the household have cards. It’s the human half before you ask. Me and Pebbles are both feeling sorry for ourselves and are wondering why no one has sent us a card. No card. No present. What is the world coming to when a human forgets their beloved dog on Valentine’s Day? Mum has a bunch of roses earlier in the week and now has some fudge to go with it. I think the fudge is more about the tine, which has a highland cow on it. Dad has some track for the railway trains – who said Mum isn’t a romantic? Anyway, it will make Dad happy so that’s the important thing.

I wonder if Mum might be going out to get something for us later.

Love and licks
