A day of two halves – Tuesday 24th February 2026

A day of two halves

Well yesterday was a day of two halves. We had a lovely time outdoors in the morning. Mum was getting excited about cutting the grass. I simply took one of Pebbles’ chews outside and lay on the grass munching contentedly. Pebbles decided to take most of her soft toys outside to get some fresh air. Mum had to fetch Hoppig, Duck and Sloth from different places around the garden. The actual grass cutting was scheduled for the afternoon – to give the ground longer to dry.

A Mistake

That was a mistake on Mum’s part. She should have cut the grass when she thought about it. There we were getting ready to spend more time outside, when the rain started. Mum was very unhappy about it. For one thing, she loves being outdoors as much as we do. For another thing the grass is very long and it makes poo clearing hard.

Now we’re just hoping that today will be dry and we can try again.

Railway room

I am pleased to say that the railway room is coming on. All furniture is now built, although Mum still has to attach the shelving unit to the wall so that Pebbles can’t pull it over. Mum has moved on to building some little storage units to sit on her desk and keep her organised. The problem is that they need glueing and Mum is allergic to the glue. It means she can only do a little at a time and then has to have a long time away from it. I suggested she could have the door and windows open, but the weather isn’t warm enough for that.

Maybe she should just leave all the glueing until the summer. That way she could do it outdoors and have less of a problem.

Love and licks
