I wasn’t good
I wasn’t good yesterday. I’d been good for several days in a row and I simply couldn’t keep it up. Mum said I got out of the wrong side of bed. She’s probably right, although that isn’t actually possible as there’s only one way out of my crate. I’d slept well. There was no real reason, but I lost the plot by just after 8am and bit Mum’s arm. I confess, I drew blood. Mum wasn’t happy. She went and cleaned her arm and put disinfectant on it, but I was well and truly in her bad books by then and had some of my privileges withdrawn.
Why do I do it?
Why do I do it? It’s a good question. Neither Mum nor I know the answer. I get plenty of exercise, lots of fresh air and as much attention as any dog would want. I just have these weird moments. And this is why I wear a muzzle. It’s just I don’t generally wear it in the house as most of the time I can be trusted.
Oakley Woods
Today I’m going to Oakley Woods for a walk. Mum did take me there a long time ago, but I got bored and she had to play ‘find it’, throwing treats ahead of me, to keep me going. She said doing that for a whole mile was really very tiresome and I can see her point. Today we’re going to see if I can walk the circuit of the woods without any need for ‘find it’. I said we could just go back to the racecourse, but Mum said it’s all part of my socialisation to go to different types of places. She says we’re going to walk the circuit of the village next, but that is going to involve walking along the roadside so I may find it more difficult.
