This category will give posts that in whole or part cover the Appenzeller Mountain Dog. This breed, although not yet recognised by the UK Kennel Club, is a Swiss mountain dog breed with a standard recognised by the FCI.
The Great Swiss Mountain Dog is the largest of the four in the series. The Bernese is slightly smaller than the Great Swiss and is the only one of the series to have long hair.
The Appenzeller is the third down in size. It is the slightly larger cousin to the Entlebucher. The Entlebucher is of course the main breed behind this blog.
All four breeds have a similar tri-colour pattern. The Appenzeller is the only one which is allowed to have a base colour of brown rather than black.
