Sunshine and showers
Yesterday was a day of sunshine and showers. I’d say it was a day of two halves, but it was more a day of sixteen sixteenths. Every time the sun shone, Mum went out to work in the garden, but then within minutes she came in looking as though someone had thrown a bucket of water over her. I had the good sense to watch all this from the comfort of the dry indoors. The pattern kept repeating itself. Mum was determined that she was going to get some of the gardening done but the weather was determined that she wasn’t. Funnier still was that during one longer spell of sunshine she hung out three loads of washing. Then she had to scramble to collect it all up as fast as possible. Life is so much easier as a dog.
How much colour do dogs see?
People often ask how much colour do dogs see? I can answer that one – enough! Our new garden room has reached the painting stage and I have to say, Mum may have gone too far. Mum likes bright colours. As I told you, my room is blue and the paint colour is called Cloudless sky, which sums it up well. It’s a lovely blue and even Dad says it makes him smile. In the garden room, we may need to wear sunglasses. The colour is a purply-pink, or a pinky-purple depending on where you want to start from.
Dad is already asking what would be involved in painting over it if it’s too much. Mum is insisting it will be just fine. I’m wondering which of my beds the colour will go best with and keeping out of the discussion. I’ll wait to see what my dog friends think when they visit in three weeks’ time.
