Progress on my cushion – Thursday 30th May 2024

Progress on my cushion

Mum has been making progress on my cushion. As Dad is away for a couple of days she knows that laying the fabric out won’t be in anyone else’s way. She moved everything off the island in the kitchen and even remembered to clean all the building dust off it before making a start. As long as her drawing of what size the pieces needed to be is correct, then she has cut all the pieces we need. They match the drawing, but given the jumper incident it’s anybody’s guess whether that will be right.

We have checked the colour against the wall of the garden room and it’s going to look fine. Mum is more relieved about that than I am.

The next stage is to tack one of the covers together to make sure it looks ok before we start sewing it. Mum has also got to work out exactly where the strips of Velcro need to go which will hold the cushions in place.

Love in

To be honest, with getting the hang of the ramp to get onto the settee, Mum and I have been having a bit of a love in anyway. I said I didn’t really need the new floor level bed, but Mum thinks that when I’ve first had my back surgery then it would be much better if I didn’t even use the ramp. I guess I am tempted to stretch and jump back off the settee without it, so I suppose I can see her point. That means that Mum has just another thirteen days to make my new bed. No pressure then!

Today’s excitement

Today’s excitement seems to involve 2 tonnes of topsoil and 4 pallets of paving slabs. For obvious reasons I will be keeping out of the way and as you can imagine, the excitement is not mine!

Love
