Black fur coat
Wearing a black fur coat in this weather is not sensible. I’m actually wishing the fur on my back hadn’t grown back quite so quickly or as thickly as it has. I’m doing my best to moult some of it, but just not fast enough. We didn’t go for a walk yesterday as I was hurting and happy not to, but today even I’ve asked if we can go as early as possible. I think Mum is hoping to take me out as soon as she’s finished her breakfast. She has asked me to promise not to bark as it will still be quite early. That’s a hard one. I’ll be ok as long as I don’t see another dog… anyone in a high-vis jacket… anyone in an odd hat… any cats… squirrels – Actually, to be fair, I don’t normally bark at squirrels I just try to follow them up trees.
Cool mats
Mum has brought out my cool mats too. It’s all very well thinking about underfloor heating for the winter, but what about a floor that cools in the summer? That would be pretty special. I’m thinking I should suggest it or maybe patent the idea if no one else has. I’d have to leave the details of how it would work to someone who knows about these things. I’m more of an ideas dog than one who can follow it through to a conclusion.
I actually wish that my crate was in my room now as that’s one that is easier to keep cool. By the time I’m in there it will be more about keeping me warm than cool.
On the bright side, the blind has been put back up in the garden room and is now up on more brackets than it had been so we’re just hoping it’s not going to come tumbling down again. Paws crossed.
