The Return of Bitey McBiteface – Friday 21st March 2025

The return of Bitey McBiteface

Yesterday saw the return of Bitey McBiteface – but with a difference. Yes, Pebbles was all teeth, but when Mum told her not to do something she did seem to listen. Their morning walk involved Pebbles chewing on her lead the whole way, but as Mum said, that’s better than chewing on Mum. Later on when she forgot her manners it didn’t result in Mum being badly bruised in the process. Ok, so today is another day and we don’t want to make assumptions that all will be well. However, on balance Mum does feel that Pebbles may be moving in the right direction.

Opening her pen

Pebbles can, of course, open the latch on her pen. She learnt to do that some weeks ago. Mum used to use a cable tie to hold it closed, but sadly Pebbles learnt to remove the cable tie. As the next step was to chew the cable tie, Mum has withdrawn it from use and introduced an ‘honour system’. If Pebbles doesn’t want to go into her crate then she needs to accept staying in her pen when asked to. On the whole it’s going well. Yesterday was funny. Mum needed to make an important phone call so asked Pebbles to sit in her pen. Mum was sitting at the counter in the kitchen when a little face appeared over the edge to see what she was doing. Thankfully, Mum had finished her call and it did make her laugh.

Librela

I’m off to the vet this morning for my Librela injection. I’m going to ask about the timing for my follow up blood test while I’m there. My eyes are still a problem and I’m keen to work out what we do next to help them improve. They aren’t too bad once I get going, but if I have them closed for a while it really is difficult to get them back working ok.

Love and woofs
