Rest Day – Friday 4th April 2025

Rest Day

Mum and Pebbles had a rest day yesterday. Pebbles didn’t want to rest. She prefers to do everything at a hundred miles an hour. Mum reminded her that she is still only a five month old puppy and it isn’t a good idea to be doing new things all the time. As it turned out, Pebbles slept most of the day and said she was feeling much better for it.

Of course, that isn’t to say she did nothing all day. She simply didn’t have another mad crazy day. Don’t misunderstand – Pebbles herself still had mad crazy moments, it was the day that wasn’t crazy.

Gentle walks

Where the guest house is, there is a very quiet lane immediately outside the door. It’s a lovely walk going gently up the hill. Mum took Pebbles along there for short walks a couple of times during the day and into the little paddock behind the guest house at other times. Pebbles is a stick fiend. She is loving finding sticks to carry wherever she goes. As she gets bigger the size of sticks she is choosing to carry is increasing. Mum said she looks quite funny with a stick dangling from her mouth. At least when she’s carrying a stick she can’t be biting her lead – or Mum.

Paddle time

Pebbles being Pebbles, Mum didn’t forget to arrange one small expedition so she could have a paddle. The day wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the lake for Pebbles to get her paws wet. They waited for Dad to come back from the scary drive he’d gone to do without them and went to a different part of the Derwent Water shoreline.

At one point Pebbles had both a stick and the water and had never been happier.

Love and woofs
