Caught in the rain

Yesterday on a walk, Mum, Dad and pebbles were caught in the rain. It wasn’t just a drizzly kind of rain, but a full on thundery shower. Mum hadn’t even got a coat with her and she and Pebbles were soaked to the skin. Dad did have a coat but when the rain stopped and the sun came out it was hard to tell if it was steam coming off him or if he was on fire. Thankfully, it was only steam. Pebbles said she’d never been out in rain like it before and found it all a bit of a surprise. In Mum’s case, she should know better than to go out without a waterproof when it’s likely to rain. Some people just never learn.

Meeting a half-sister

Today Pebbles will be meeting a half-sister. I think they are about the same age so it will be interesting for Mum to see them together. They share their dad, Elvis, rather than their mum, Betty. Mum has promised to try to take some photos of them together. From what I’ve seen, I think Pebbles’ half-sister might be rather better trained than Pebbles – but we will wait to see.

Eating the flowers

Pebbles has been eating the flowers. That isn’t making her very popular. Mum says we haven’t had a flower eater in the house since Shadow was a puppy and even then she limited herself mainly to the primroses. With Pebbles it’s any flower. You can be walking past something and suddenly, out of nowhere, she turns and chomps a flower from its stem. Mum is as much worried as cross with her. She’s concerned that Pebbles isn’t pausing long enough to check if things are likely to be poisonous. That’s one of the problems with us as we grow up, there is only so much protection our humans can give without smothering us.
