Action stations – Thursday 19th December 2024

Action stations

Action stations everyone. Operation Pebbles is about to commence. We will be setting off in a couple of hours to collect Pebbles. I have my instructions. On the way home I am to soothe her and keep her calm and reassure her that I’ll be a substitute mum as well as a friend. We will sit together in the crates in the boot for the journey. Pebbles has a soft toy and a chew in case she needs them, but I’m really expecting she will go to sleep and by the time she wakes up we’ll be home. Then the fun will really start.

Christmas lights

As the builders have done most of the work on our porch and outside, at least until the new year, Mum put the rest of the lights up yesterday. That was the remaining 1,300. At least these ones work from the mains so she doesn’t have to go round putting all the batteries in. We finally have a front door again. It’s amazing how much you miss it when you don’t have one. You can’t get to it easily at least not until the path to it is in place, but we at least have the idea of a front door.

Let Christmas begin

With the arrival of Pebbles then Christmas can begin. I put some Christmas music on a couple of days ago, but Dad wouldn’t believe it was for me. He presumed Mum had put it on and then disappeared to another room. As if she’d do that. Anyway, our first Christmas visitors (well second if you include the ones at the end of November) will arrive tomorrow. Pebbles is going to meet so many new people. Mum has said it’s really important that she also has a quiet place that she can go for some time to rest, as it will all be very tiring for her.

Love
