Heading home

Today Mum is heading home. She says it has been a wonderful holiday. I think she meant to say it would have been much better if I could have been there, but just missed that bit out. On the bright side she did spend some time looking at places I might like to stay with her. One problem is that not all the beaches are dog friendly and she thought some of the places would have been too busy for my liking. I do generally prefer somewhere with a little garden, but that is less likely with a sea view. One of us might have to compromise.

Why only me?

You might ask why Mum is only thinking of taking me on holiday. Well, leaving aside the fact that Pebbles and I don’t get on, Pebbles doesn’t like all the change that a holiday involves. She finds it stressful. Given the choice of time staying with other dogs she can play with, in an environment she knows – or lots of changes from day to day, she chooses kennels. I choose being with Mum above all else. I’m not as easy going as Alfie was, nothing fazed him as long as he had Mum with him. At least that was the case until he got dementia. I do get more anxious than that, but I still prefer being with Mum above other options.

In the meantime

Obviously we won’t be going away for a while, so in the meantime it’s all paws on deck in the garden. Mum did almost no gardening while she was ill, so now it will be every minute available to catch up. The problem is that by visiting different places while she’s been away, she’s coming home with some new ideas. I think we’re going to have to sit down and talk about them in case I don’t agree.

Love and licks
