Grumpy humans
I have grumpy humans. I don’t mean they are always grumpy, I mean that at the moment they are particularly grumpy. We lost our phone and broadband in the storm a few days ago, so we needed an engineer to come to fix the problem. Despite Mum explaining what had happened and what tests she’d run already, they still sent the wrong type of engineer. Then, to add insult to injury, they marked the file as fixed and Mum had to start the whole process from the beginning again. Now we won’t get an engineer until tomorrow.
The suitcase
Meanwhile, several days after Dad flew to America for his work, his suitcase is still at Heathrow airport. Now if they send it to America, Dad will be on his way back home and won’t be there to collect it. Mum is fed up as it’s actually her suitcase that Dad borrowed. At least the suitcase won’t be lonely, there are thousands in the pile waiting to be reunited with their humans.
Today’s problem
Today’s problem is rather different. We have a wasps nest in our hedge next to the pavement. The pavement is quite narrow and Mum is worried about the risk of anyone walking past. This afternoon, a man is coming to deal with the nest. Mum will be staying indoors with us for safety as I don’t suppose they will be all that happy.
All this grumpiness does mean that Pebbles and I have important work to do as therapy dogs. We are on paw to help calm our humans and make sure their lives run just a little more smoothly. I say that, but quite honestly, Pebbles is still a whirlwind of chaos and hasn’t quite understood her important work as a pet. She is still more prone to body slamming Mum than sitting quietly and nuzzling her.
