Crazy puppy
Our crazy puppy has reached the point of her season where she’d be ready to mate. Of course she isn’t going to. Firstly, she’s way too young. Secondly, she hasn’t gone through all her important health testing or her tests for conformation or character. Finally – she’s crazy.
Anyway, she really didn’t know what to do with herself yesterday and was jumping up at Mum with total abandon. At one point she nearly knocked Mum’s teeth out, but fortunately except feeling a little bruised, all is well.
We’ve actually had to come to kennels for a day today as Mum has to take Granny for an all day appointment. On the upside, they are well set up to cope with Pebbles being in season. On the downside, Pebbles is eyeing up every male dog who comes her way and giving them marks out of ten. I guess none will shape up to her best mate Dexter the Cocker Spaniel.
Reindeer has been promoted
Reindeer, or Moose as we found he prefers to be called, has been promoted. Until the last couple of days, only Hoppig and Sloth had the honour of being carried out into the garden and acting as Pebbles comforters. Now Moose has been let into the inner circle. Mum has no idea why he has suddenly found favour, but he is smiling through gritted teeth and trying to be grateful. His role now involves rather more slobber than it used to, as well as being thrown into the air and run with around the garden at high speed. I’m sure he’ll get used to it in time.
Making the most of Dad
With Dad home, both Pebbles and I have been making the most of him. I can see that Mum might be feeling left out, but we miss him so much when he’s away. I guess with Mum always there, we may take her a little more for granted, but I think she knows we love her.
Love and licks
