Talking ball
As if Pebbles didn’t have enough balls to play with, Mum has now bought her a talking ball. I’ll try to get a video to show you in the next few days. It’s almost as much fun as the Boomer ball, but in a quite different way. I keep saying to Mum that there must be other toys than balls that will get Pebbles interested, but it’s hard to find what they are. You throw a frisbee once for her and she then runs around carrying it in her mouth or trying to eat it.
Mind you, now the worst of her season is over I think she will be in the house more than she has been. She’s past the point of needing to have pants on, at least for the next few months.
All birthdays
This time of year seems to be all about birthdays. We had barely got mine out of the way before it was Granny’s birthday. Yesterday she was 92, which really is quite remarkable. It’s going to be sometime before I catch up with her even if I have overtaken all the rest of the family. Now it’s less then a month to Mum’s birthday and that’s a special one. She’s in the middle of arranging her party which I’m not planning to be part of as it will be too peopley for me. I have asked Mum to save me some of the hog roast so I can at least take part on my own terms.
One complication is that to get everything ready, Mum will have to take Pebbles pen down and put it away. She will also have to fill in the holes that Pebbles has dug. We never expected the pen to still be up, but Pebbles says she likes having it and has asked for it to go back in place afterwards. Mum needs to mark exactly where each corner is as, with the ground not being level, it too ages to find the ideal spot when she first put it up.
