Physiotherapist

So Pebbles went to see the physiotherapist yesterday. As with all new people, Pebbles was delighted to meet her and tried to smother her with affection. Her examination of Pebbles was slightly complicated by Pebbles refusing to stop moving even for a moment. Mum had taken several pouches of treats. They worked their way through almost all of them getting Pebbles to cooperate. From what Mum said, I don’t think that Pebbles stopped moving once in the whole forty minutes they were there. Mum was very impressed that nothing fazed the physiotherapist and little by little she gave Pebbles a full examination while Pebbles moved about.

Good news

The good news is that Pebbles shows absolutely no evidence of pain and there is no suggestion of anything being wrong with her back or joints. Of course, that does mean that the bad news is that Pebbles’ behaviour can’t be blamed on pain and it really is all down to her ADHD. As the physiotherapist said, it’s just a good job she’s so adorable with it! If it weren’t for that I think Mum would be finding the situation impossible.

Sensory overload

Pebbles did find it hard having to get in an out of the car in a road close to a town centre. Everywhere was very noisy and very busy and she really didn’t enjoy that very much. Mum had taken some big pieces of cheese to hold her attention and they definitely helped. One thing Mum is wondering is whether to try having Pebbles sitting on the back seat with a dog seat belt. It might make it easier to put her lead on safely while she’s still in the car. The first dog crate Mum had in her car had a hole in the roof so you could reach in to attach a lead before opening the door, but the current crate doesn’t have that. It makes it quite stressful with a dog like Pebbles.
