Polly having fun
Today I have a picture of my great-niece Polly having fun. She was pretending she had won the whole of Crufts and sitting with the trophy. What a wonderful dream that would be for any of us. It certainly won’t be one of our breed this year and probably not for a very long time. We’re not really show dogs. It’s not our natural instinct to be in a show ring with strangers running their hands over us. If it were more a test of intelligence, mental reasoning and memory, we’d beat almost any dog paws down. Showing doesn’t come quite as naturally to us. It can give us the opportunity to have some fun in the ring with our humans, but we never make it awfully easy for them.

Yak Bar
As I told you, Pebbles’ present from Crufts was a yak bar. Mum bought her a very big one that is supposed to be tough enough to last for quite a long time with a dog chewing it. I have no idea what dog they tested it on to reach that conclusion. I’m guessing it was probably the size of a Pomeranian. If they had tested it on Pebbles, they would have found that their biggest size bar was reduced to half that amount in exactly 20 minutes. That makes it a very expensive purchase if you look at £ per chewing hour. Obviously that is a statistic I’ve just invented, but I think it’s one that should be introduced to help humans work out what to buy for us.
I haven’t started my biscuits yet. I want to enjoy them and just have one a day, when my current bag of treats comes to an end. Perhaps I can teach Pebbles a little bit about self-control and patience, although Mum has been trying to teach her those things for a while.
