Model Village – Tuesday 17th March 2026

Model Village

Only Mum could choose to visit a model village in the pouring rain. This is what happens when you go on holiday without your beloved dog. If I were there, Mum would be content with taking pictures of me. As I’m not there she needs something else to photograph. So far that would be one selfie and seventy-six pictures of a model village. Dad did not go with her. He took one look at the weather and opted to sit drinking a cup of coffee in front of an open fire. Mum was not so easily put off. Her excuse, apart from the fact that she’s missing me desperately, was that she wanted some ideas of building that could be modelled to go along the railway at home.

It was bad enough when she rang to tell me about it. I just hope she doesn’t expect me to look at all of her holiday photos when she gets back.

Missing training

Pebbles is fed up today as she’s missing training. It is her favourite part of the week. She’s now grumbling that it’s not fair of Mum to go away when she should be here to take Pebbles to see her friends. You’ve probably guessed that it’s her social life she’s worried about, rather than the opportunity to learn.

It was funny, hearing her talking about her friends I had a sudden jolt back to my own puppyhood. I wonder where some of my friends from then are now. Jazz was my closest friend. She was an Airedale Terrier and moved to France with her family. I did see her once when we were adults, but that was many years ago now. We need an equivalent of Facebook for dogs. I wonder if I could invent one.

Love and licks
