Bank Holiday Gloom
Yesterday was a day of bank holiday gloom. Nothing especially went wrong, but in typical bank holiday style the sun didn’t bother showing its face. Meanwhile the wind decided to have some fun and blow everything around. Not my sort of weather at all. I did have a mooch around the garden and tried to console myself that at least it wasn’t raining, but who was I kidding? I was far happier inside in the warm. I could still hear the wind howling but at least it just background noise rather than taking me with it.
Mum insisted on doing some gardening, but that was as much to entertain Pebbles as because she really wanted to be outdoors.
Today’s Excitement
Now we are preparing for today’s excitement. It is our Club’s first fun day of the year. Really I’m past wanting to go to fun days, but my offer to stay at home was not accepted. Mum said she will be out too long for me to do that. I said I would cope and Mum put her foot down and said it was not an option. It means sitting next to Pebbles for the journey. My only hope now is that the weather is bad so I can stay in the car and not have to take part. Sadly, I have a feeling Mum won’t let me do that either.
She’s going to have her hands full organising the games and managing Pebbles, she really doesn’t need me getting in the way.
Pebbles on the other paw is so excited about the chance to see other dogs that frankly she is a liability. Mum is seriously considering making her wear her muzzle for safety. Dad says she’ll be fine. Mind you, as it’s usually Mum she bites when she gets over-excited I can see why Mum may put her foot down on that one too.
