Nearly time

It’s nearly time to see Mum and Dad back again. Mum says she’s missing us. I know what she means. She was saying how much she misses us being able to go everywhere with her. I ended up feeling quite depressed, realising I’m never going to be that dog again. At least Pebbles might one day get to the point she can go everywhere, but for me that is all in the past. Getting old can be difficult. Dad apparently has adopted his usual coping strategy and is saying hello to every dog he meets. Mum doesn’t want any and every dog she meets, she wants us – which is kind of nice and sad at the same time.

Reminiscing

We end up with that whole ‘Do you remember the time we did…’ thing. Days on the beach, up mountains, walking in the rain. All the things we’ve done together over the years. Mum was even remembering how Pebbles last year had to bring a stick back every time she went for a walk, until there was quite a pile of sticks outside of the guest house door. It was annoying at the time, but now seems a nice memory.

Springtime

Mum has said as long as the weather is dry she wants to spend all our time outdoors. I know I should be excited, but I may keep that under control and watch from indoors some of the time. There’s no apples left to eat, so I find outdoor time can be quite tiring. I can see what she’s up to from the garden room windows. At least that way I can tick off which jobs Mum has done as she finishes them. I’ve got quite a long list for her to work on.

Love and licks
