Dad’s the best
Dad’s the best – he really is. Mum went out for the day yesterday and left us all at home. She’d left careful instructions about what he needed to do for us. He did way better than just following instructions. We had a lovely day with him. It was cuddles on demand all day. He was quite strict with me and made me do plenty of exercise. I said I didn’t need to, but he refused to accept my excuses. He actually made me walk around the orchard with him. To be fair, I got quite into the swing of it and started running around. Between my Librela injections and my hydrotherapy, I feel remarkably lively. I have to go for my monthly injection today, but it will mean I get cheese, so it’s not all bad.
Pebbles in the garden
Dad taking Pebbles out in the garden was funnier. Although Mum had told him that Pebbles takes her toys out in order, he’d never actually seen her do it before. He was amazed to watch her carefully sort through her crate to find the right one at the right time. The she proudly carried it outside with her. I also explained to him that to get her to carry her toy back inside he needed to point to it and say ‘bring’. I’m not sure who it was entertaining more, Pebbles or Dad.

By the time Mum came home we were all ready to tell her what a wonderful day we’d had. We remembered to tell her we’d missed her too, but at least she didn’t end up feeling bad for going out. Having Dad at home more really does have its advantages for all of us.
Today we’re back to a more normal day with Mum still trying to catch up on some gardening. It’s not going to be as warm as yesterday, but at least it should be fine.
