Misled

I’ve been misled. It is really rather annoying. When Mum rang last night she told me that today they will be heading to Bone. At least that’s what I heard. I began to get quite excited about what she might be bringing us back from holiday. When she explained that it was spelt Beaune and was famous for wine rather than dog treats, I felt rather disappointed. You will be pleased to hear that neither I nor Pebbles drink wine. I might like it, but Mum has insisted that we are not to help ourselves while she’s away.

On the bright side, at least we know Mum and Dad are on their way and will be with us soon. I miss them, but I think it’s much harder for Pebbles. She depends on Mum very heavily to help her make sense of this crazy world.

Harvest

As soon as Mum is back we can start harvesting some of the garden produce. There are plenty of courgettes ready to eat and tomatoes. Mum says there should be potatoes ready too, but we won’t know until we start digging. I’d have a bash before they get back, but I’d probably be in trouble.

For me, the best thought is that we are back into apple eating time of year. The apples won’t be ready to harvest for a while yet, but the fallen apples will be ready for me to have a nibble of in the meantime. This year, Mum is hoping that Dad will try making his first batch of cider. It will be interesting to see how he gets on. I don’t suppose I’ll be allowed to drink the cider either, although maybe I could just have a little sip to see what I think.

Love and licks
