Pebbles is a big girl
Well it turns out that Pebbles is a big girl now. Her first season has started and so far she’s taking it in her stride. Thankfully, she spends a lot of time outdoors, so doesn’t need her pants on. Mum thinks she’d just chew them straight off again if she put them on. If I’m being honest, I don’t think Pebbles has really noticed. It’s Mum going round clearing up after her. Normally, we’re very good at doing that for ourselves. I did wonder about taking her on one side and trying to explain, but I don’t think she’d take it all that well coming from me. Besides, she was far too busy enjoying herself.
Hanging basket
Mum was doing a little clearing up and weeding behind the greenhouse. Pebbles found an old broken hanging basket and ran off with it. If it hadn’t been broken before, it certainly was afterwards. Then Pebbles broke a piece of plastic off and was trying to eat it. That was when Mum intervened to retrieve and bin the basket, leaving Pebbles with the old contents.
Once she’d disposed of the basket, Mum went back for the lump of soil. Pebbles of course fought her for it and a lot of soil went in Mum’s shoe. This is the point where you’ll wonder if Mum will ever learn. Mum took her shoe off to shake the soil out… Pebbles ran off with the shoe. Mum was left, shaking her head and wondering how she’d been so stupid.
Exciting day
Today could be an oddly exciting day with the opportunity for a great deal of barking. The neighbouring field, which rarely has more than sheep in it, is being used for car parking. There is a car show on at our village pub and there will be people coming and going to the field all day. I think Mum might have to keep Pebbles out of the way as she’d be shouting to anyone and everyone who went into the field otherwise. I’m more likely to be chilling out on the hall mat. I’ve decided that’s one of my favourite spots at the moment.

Wow, Pebbles! Last time I checked, you were still a tiny bundle! Pleased to see you looking so well! I see you are keeping your family on their toes with your quick-witted playful intentions! That really made me laugh and took me back to when my own pets were kiddos themselves, full of chidlike fun and mischief… Great times!
She’s definitely the crazy one around here. I’m sure she will grow up eventually.
