Spring is on the way
The winter Solstice is past and spring is on the way. Ok, so it might be some way off yet and we might have the coldest part of the year to come, but every day from now until June is a little longer than the last. Mum and I went around the garden changing batteries where they were needed to celebrate the shortest day and then enjoyed looking at all the lights. Mum was singing, which was something I had to put up with, but other than that it was quite a nice moment.
One small problem
One small problem, other than Pebbles spending her day body slamming Mum from behind, was finding the spare dining chairs in the garage are covered in mould. There is no a rescue mission underway in order to get them ready for when they need to be used. Fortunately, Mum finding them yesterday has given her some time as we don’t need all of them until 4th January. I shall stay out of the way that day as there will be fifteen humans and that is way more than I’m happy with.
Leftovers
There will be several family meals over the next few weeks at our house. I’ve been discussing the menus with Mum to make sure at least some of the leftovers will be dog friendly. There is nothing worse than hearing your humans say, ‘You can’t have that, Wilma. It isn’t safe for dogs.’ We cannot have stuffing, or gravy, or mince pies, or Christmas cake. (Just make sure your humans know that, it’s really important. You don’t want to end up at the vet with poisoning.) Also, remember you can’t have turkey bones.
I’ve asked Mum to make sure that there is some turkey meat kept aside without any bones and maybe some bacon and veg too. Carrots and parsnips are always good – and a little cheese maybe to finish off.
Love and licks
Wilma
