Things to smile about

Yesterday I was looking for things to smile about. The weather was miserable and the garden was very wet under paw. It would have been all too easy to feel a bit down. It wasn’t helped by Mum having taken down more of the Christmas lights, rather than replacing their batteries again. Then I said to myself, “Wilma,” I said, “find things to be cheerful about.”

When I began to look at the garden for the good things, there were a pair of Robins in the bush next to Mum. Then I found some snowdrops coming through and some buds on the camelia and I started to think that spring might not be so far away.

Pebbles is doing well

I don’t want to speak too soon, but around the house Pebbles is doing quite well at the moment. Not so well that it’s safe to allow her into more rooms. She did have a pretty good go at throwing herself at a door with a glass panel – that scared Mum. However on a day to day basis it’s more like she has at last understood a few of the rules. Ok, so every so often both Mum and Dad are body slammed from behind, but some things can’t be helped. However aside from that, it now takes a less constant supply of chews, Kongs and brain games to keep her relatively civilized.

She has taken to curling up under the kitchen table, which is quite cute. Maybe I’ll ask Mum to put a bed under there. It could be quite a nice spot for me too.

Screensaver

Mum has changed the screensaver on her mobile phone to some of our recent pictures. There’s me working in Alfie’s Bar and then the one of me skydiving. There’s Pebbles’ ice skating picture too. Now Mum’s just waiting for an opportunity to show other humans some pictures of her dogs and will bring them out while trying to keep a straight face!

Love and licks
