Trying the window seat
Pebbles has been trying the window seat with Mum. Sitting anywhere with Pebbles can be a little challenging. She doesn’t stay still very long. When Mum had taken Pebbles into the railway room before, Pebbles was fine for the first five minutes. Unfortunately she then got bored and decided throwing the cushion from our bed into the air and seeing if she could catch it, would be a good game. Of course, given it’s a big cushion which could do quite a bit of damage, Mum didn’t think that was a game to encourage.
Second attempt
So yesterday was the second attempt to see if Pebbles could be a little bit calm in there. Mum sat on the window seat, thinking she would read for a while. Pebbles threw herself into the air and landed on Mum, thinking that Mum would entertain her for a while. To Mum’s credit, she did try to both entertain Pebbles and read, but it was inevitable that one thing would have to give. Mum put her book down.

Pebbles began by having a jolly good wriggle to find a position that was comfortable. Then to Mum’s annoyance, Pebbles decided to kill a fly on the window by licking at it until she caught it – the window now needs washing.
What are you doing?
Eventually, Pebbles settled and Mum picked up her book again. Good old Pebbles promptly stuck her nose into Mum’s face to ask what she was doing. That was the point at which Mum gave up trying to read. She wasn’t really enjoying the book she was reading anyway, so she didn’t mind too much.

Pebbles also launched herself off the platform outside the railway room door. That caused Mum some alarm. Mum has been trying to work out how to fit a rail to stop that sort of thing happening. Dad didn’t think either of us would be that stupid! Sadly, he was overestimating Pebbles.
