Kong emergency
We had a Kong emergency yesterday afternoon. Our frozen Kongs are kept in the bottom drawer of our big freezer. Mum and Dad had been out taking part in a concert for the residents of the care home where Granny lives. When they came home the freezer alarm was beeping. That meant the freezer wasn’t cold enough and that’s where our Kongs were. The door wasn’t sealing, so Mum moved everything out of the freezer to the freezer in the garage while she investigated the problem. The freezer was working fine, somebody had taken something out of our drawer and not closed the drawer properly, so it had been preventing the freezer from getting cold enough. It wasn’t me. I don’t know whether it might have been Pebbles or if it was Mum.
Fortunately, our Kongs were fine, so nothing lost from our point of view. Some stewed apple was a bit defrosted, so Dad ate that and some chocolate sponge cakes, so Dad is eating those next. Mum says everything else seemed fine and fortunately there was no meat in there to worry about, apart from our Kongs. Pebbles and I tucked into one of those each and the bigger ones, according to Mum, were still frozen, so could wait.
Enough Excitement
I think that’s probably enough excitement for the week. Pebbles and I do have a day in kennels later in the week so that Mum can go to Crufts. I must admit to being a bit apprehensive as we haven’t had a kennel trip for a little while and I do like my routine. I don’t always know where I am when I’m at home, so there isn’t much hope when I’m somewhere else. Still it’s only very brief, so I guess we’ll cope. Looking on the bright side, I guess it’s also better than having to go to face the crowds at Crufts. On that basis, maybe Mum would like a quiet day at kennels with us.
